As we expand our global presence and enhance our support for diverse teams and industries worldwide, we are delighted to announce the launch of our GDPR-compliant Sigma deployment in AWS UK, located in London, United Kingdom.
Deploying Sigma in AWS UK expands our addressable market to an additional segment of Snowflake’s customer base in the United Kingdom, allowing us to cater to businesses with specific regional presence and compliance requirements, including adherence to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
With this deployment, UK customers gain more control over their data storage, as we securely store it within the UK, enabling compliance with internal policies and external data residency requirements.

How can we move our existing instances or a subset of users from one Sigma region (e.g. US West) to a UK region?
At the time of deployment, we do not support this. Current Sigma customers can reach out to the Customer Success team to create a new Sigma Organization and provision additional users. We can explore this option as demand increases.
Are there any features impacted by strict PII rules?
At the moment we do not support Audit Logging.
Are we going to expand hours for UK customers with Live Chat?
Not immediately. UK customers will be served throughout Support hours 6am-6pm PT.
Will we have the ability to provide automatic routing based on the region the data resides in (connections) to help make it easy for customers to switch between instances?
No.
